Judy Makin
When the WCDR organization formed after the 2018 tornado Judy focused on arranging counselling support services, and also on tree replacement.
Judy has lived in Carp for 4 years, and upon moving here immediately joined the HCA Board. Judy moved here from rural Kanata and served on the Board of the March Rural Community Association for many years. Judy greatly enjoys working on community projects and has developed many contacts across the community. She also has a strong interest in conserving the natural environment and was a founding Board member of the Friends of the Carp Hills. Prior to retirement, Judy worked as a school psychologist for the public school board, serving students with special needs and consulting with parents and teachers. This career was good preparation for the communications challenges and creative problem-solving required for many community issues.
